How to Promote Yourself on One Model Place

The best way to get more exposure on One Model Place is to network, network, network! And when you are done networking, network some more!
OMP is and has always been a social networking site; the more networking you do, the better your responses will be and the more work you will generate. Self-promotion is all about increasing your visibility and communicating with other members.

Here are some great ways to reach more members on OMP:

1. Do you like someone's body of work? Leave "Portfolio Comments"

There are two ways to leave portfolio comments:
- Use the Profile Community Bar at the top of model and member portfolios to leave comments for your favorite members under » Comments » Post My Comment.
- You can also leave portfolio comments directly on the Mini PortfoliosTMunder » Add Your Comment » Post My Comment.

2. Respond to members who leave "Portfolio Comments"

Make sure you check for private comments that have been left for you, and approve them on your own portfolio. Login to OMP » Manage My Portfolio » Email and Comments » Manage My Comments » Portfolio Comments » Show/Approve New Private Comments.

You may also set your preference to auto-approve all of your portfolio comments under » Preferences » Comments » Display » Automatically Make Comments Public » Update My Community Bar Preferences

3. Like a particular photo? Leave "Image Comments"

Just as with portfolios, when viewing a member's images you can leave comments on each one individually under » View/Add Comments » Comments on the Image Below » Post My Comment. Make sure you choose the appropriate rating between 1-10 before posting under » Rate This Image.

4. Respond to members who leave "Image Comments"

Make sure you check for image comments you have received and approve them on your own portfolio. Login to OMP » Manage My Portfolio » Email and Comments » Manage My Comments » Show New Private Image Comments to Approve.

5. Keep your portfolio updated

When you update your general information and schedule, your portfolio is promoted higher in the daily lists and on the home page. Keep your page up-to-date so members know your current status. The most successful members of the site do this every day. » Manage My Portfolio » My Portfolio and Images » Edit/Update My Portfolio

6. Add images frequently

When you add new images, the photos will be displayed on the home page in the Newly Uploaded Images section at http://member.onemodelplace.com/recent_images.cfm. Each image will be reviewed by the OMP staff for Showcase status. Login to OMP » Manage My Portfolio » My Portfolio and Images » Add/Update My Images » Use the New OMP Uploader or Older Image Upload

7. Don't be afraid to contact members you want to work with

Send emails to members you desire to work with, and let them know you are interested in working together. Use the search to find members in your area or traveling to your area and then email them. Be active and respond to each member who contacts you, even if your response is simply "not interested at this time."

8. Turn on notifications

Login to OMP » Manage My Portfolio » Edit/Update Portfolio. Scroll down and turn on "New Model/Photographer Notifications". Leave a comment for every new member in your area. Email the members that you really would like to work with in addition to leaving a comment. This is a great way to build your network, see new members as they join OMP, and invite them to look at your work. If you are a Platinum member, you can list yourself in Alternate States under Manage My Profile » Preferences » General Preferences.

9. Turn on Travel Notifications

Login to OMP » Manage My Portfolio » Edit/Update Portfolio. Scroll down and turn on "Travel Notifications". Email all the members that are traveling to your area, to show them your portfolio of work or notify them if you want to work with them. You can also search for members who are traveling to a specific state under the Travel Search section of the Search pages..

10. Are you traveling? Post Travel Notificationsb

If you are traveling to a particular state and are available for work, post a travel notification. You can also use the OMP member search and contact those members you really want to work with while traveling. Login to OMP » Manage My Portfolio » Self Promotion Tools » Manage Travel.

11. Tag other members

Use the Profile Community Bar and tag your favorite members with a comment or work offer. This will let you develop a list of members you want to work with and build your networking community on OMP.

12. Start a Blog

You can create a Blog to make announcements, updates and comments. Login to OMP » Manage My Portfolio » Self Promotion Tools » Manage My Blogs.

13. Create a Fan Club

Setup your own Fan Club and subscribe to your favorite members fan clubs and keep your members informed on what you are doing. Login to OMP » Manage My Portfolio » Self Promotion Tools » Manage My Blogs.

14. Contact members who have been looking at you

This feature lists all the members that have viewed your portfolio. You can use the Mini Portfolio view to tag, leave comment, and contact the members that have looked at your portfolio.

15. Contact new members

For a list of new members in your area to contact, go to Login to OMP » Manage My Portfolio » New Members » New members to contact. Leave comments and tags to all new members in your area.

16. Post/Check Casting Calls

Looking for models for a project? Post a casting call. Models looking for work? Check the Casting Call section. Personal casting calls coming soon.

17. Members in the News

This section is where you can promote everything you have worked on recently – major photo shoots, fashion shows, assignments you've booked, publications you’ve been in, TV and movie roles you have been cast for, etc. "Members in the News" is one of the best tools on OMP for self promotion.

18. Link your images to other members

When you work with another member and upload your images, take the opportunity to link the image to that member. Also make sure that when they upload the images that they link back to you. This doubles your exposure and shows how much you are working with other members.

- Images must be at least 600 pixels
- Images must not have borders
- Images must not contain watermarks across the center; if a watermark is present must be small, tasteful, and in the corner of the image
